Where is Your Focus?

While I prefer the Amplified Bible for study, I enjoy the MSG Bible for it’s down to earth verbiage. Today’s verse is a great example.

If you don’t want to get tripped up by the cares of the world keep your eyes on Jesus. Make Him the focus of your life. It sounds simple enough, but the truth is, it’s easy to get distracted. Life pulls at us from every direction.

Most parents can affirm, when your child is a baby their world revolves around you. They want to be where you are and most of the time they relish being held and coddled by you. Go to God the Father with that same child like adoration.

God doesn’t expect perfection from us. What He is is looking for is love, devotion and obedience. Even when we do trip, He is there to pick us up, we simply have to reach out and grab hold of His steady hands.

Help is on the Way

img_0992“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” Psalms 145:18-19 NKJV

When I read the book of Job I am always encouraged by Job’s faithfulness at a time when his own wife advised him to give up, curse God and die. Personally, I know I have a long way to go before reaching that level of faith.

When faced with adversity people often ask, “Why did God allow this to happen?” I cannot answer that question, but I know He is STILL a good God.

Hold tight, help is on the way! Cry out to God. It’s okay to be honest with Him about your fear and doubt. He WILL rescue you. It may not look like you expect or be in your timing, but He will not fail you.
