“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.”  Isaiah 26:3 AMP

What is the secret to perfect and constant peace? According to Isaiah it is in keeping our mind focused  on God. When we commit to Him, lean on Him and put our hope in Him we can remain at peace regardless of our circumstances.

Being a Christian doesn’t shield us from hardship or heartache, but it does guard us from being hopeless.

A few days ago I visited my brother in law in the hospital. He has terminal cancer. As we spoke he shared a conversation he had with his doctor. He basically told the doctor, “You offer no hope, but my hope is in God. He will heal me now, or He will heal me after death, either way I will be healed.”

THAT my friend is perfect peace!

Prayer: Lord, when the storms of life surround me, my hope is in You. Because of Your steadfast love I can find constant peace in knowing You are my God, and “If God be for us, who can be against us?”  (Romans 8:31)
