Each of us is engaged in an internal war between our flesh and spirit. We are a spiritual being living in a carnal body. The one we FEED the most is the one who wins in our daily battles. I encourage you to read Romans chapter 8 today – the entire chapter, not just our key verse. When we read verses in the context they are written the Spirit of God can shed light on the true message of the verse.

How much of our “suffering” is the result of allowing the flesh to rule in our lives? Romans 8:6 says, “to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

PRAY: Lord, when I am suffering unrest in my spirit give me the wisdom to discern between flesh and spirit. Help me to be led by your Spirit. I choose life over death. I choose victory over defeat. I choose submission over rebellion.
